Outline of Final Research Achievements |
This study attempted to clarify the concept of "state language", which aimed at multilingualism, in German-speaking and Russian-speaking countries and Japanese-speaking space. The concept of "state language" (Staatsprache) had been born in German-speaking countries and was brought to Japanese language through two processes. One is the introduction by Koichi HOSHINA and Katsuhiko TANAKA. The other is where the concept had been translated from German into Russian by Lenin and then was brought to Japanese in the 1990s.
In this historical discourse, the concept of state language seemed to be a bundle of two-sided discourses, "affirmation" and "negation", on the premise that it was established legally.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
