| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
On the basis of investigations of how Korean speeches made by Japanese learners of Korean are estimated by native speakers, this study has clarified what aspects and factors are involved when the native speakers hear the Japanese people’s speeches and what types of impressions are made about the learners’ personalities. Furthermore, the study has statistically analyzed how and in what respects the learners’ speeches influence the impressions that the native speakers have, making clear the correlations between the estimation of speech and the estimation of likableness. The results indicate that the native speakers’ feelings towards the learners are greatly influenced not only by the linguistic clarity of the learners but also by paralinguistic information, such as intonation and speech speed, and nonlinguistic information, such as facial expressions and eye movements.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究は、日本人韓国語学習者を対象に、韓国語母語話者の評価観点と評価の因果関係を探り、学習者の言語行動と学習者に抱く対人印象との関係を明らかにした。外国語学習者の言語行動がその人に抱く印象形成に影響することは、これまで多くの研究で判明しているが、韓国語学習者を対象にしたものは見られなかった点において本研究は意義のあるものと言える。この成果は、日本人韓国語学習者に対するコミュニケーション教育に応用できると考える。また、学習者のみならず韓国語母語話者にも情報を提供することで、ステレオタイプや誤解によって生じる悪い印象を回避し、異文化に属する者同士の円滑なコミュニケーションへつながると考えられる。
