Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study was to examine the following three things histologically.; ①Establishment of osteoarthritis (OA) rat model in patellofemoral joint induced by MIA, ②Effect of joint loading on the progression of OA, ③Effect of unloading environment on joint compoenents. As a result, this study revealed the following findings.; ① Intra-articular injection of MIA induced the typical histological changes in the patellofemoral joint, ② Joint unloading inhibits articular cartilage degeneration in knee joint, ③ Unloading environment caused disuse histological changes in the articular cartilage, however, it caused no critical histological changes to the synovial membrane or infrapatellar fat pad.
