Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, we performed electrophysiological experiments in the spinal dorsal horn of β-alanine. We found that β-alanine is involved in inhibitory synaptic transmission in the spinal dorsal horn. We also found that this effect was concentration dependent. We also investigated the receptors involved, and revealed that β-alanine acts through the Cl channel, and that it is not involved in the GABA A receptor but through the glycine receptor.
