Research Abstract

静電容量の小さい粒径2nm以下の金属ナノ粒子では、室温でのクーロンブロッケード現象が発現するため、ナノ粒子が空間規則配列した一次元・二次元超格子は、単電子トンネル効果を利用したナノ電子デバイスへと展開できる。本研究では、配位子殻厚さの劇的な減少および伝導パスへのπ電子雲垂直挿入を実現するため、ポルフィリン環を金ナノ粒子表面に平行に配位させた系について検討した。ポルフィリン誘導体を設計・合成後、クエン酸保護Auナノ粒子との配位子交換反応により、ポルフィリン誘導体Auナノ粒子を合成した。ポルフィリン誘導体Auナノ粒子のUV-visスペクトルがら、ポルフィリン環のSoret帯のモル吸光係数が配位子単独の1/5〜1/15に減少し、ピーク位置がわずかに長波長シフトした。さらに、ポルフィリン環-金表面間距離がポルフィリンの電子構造や構造に影響を及ぼすことを明らかにした。微細Auナノ粒子の電子物性として、Au-TiをコートしたSiO_2カンチレバー上に作製した微細Auナノ粒子超格子を86MHzで振動させることにより、ナノ粒子を通しカンチレバー-STMプローブ間で単電子輸送ができることを実証するとともに、単電子トンネルデバイス作製に向け、EBリソグラフィーと無電解金メッキ法を併用することで5nmギャップ金電極の作製に成功した。さらに、チオール配位子で安定化されたAu_<25>クラスターの耐エッチング性が極めて高いことを実証し、表面金原子がすべてチオールと結合していることを明らかにした。
