Research Abstract

Au(111)単結晶電極表面に形成されたグルタチオン(GSH: Glu-Cys-Gly)自己組織化単分子膜(SAM)上での酸化還元反応は電解質溶液のpHおよび錯体を形成すると考えられている多価カチオンの濃度,価数,イオン種に依存して反応速度が数桁変化する。これまでの報告では「ion-gating」機構によって反応速度の増加が説明されてきた。我々は、電気二重層によるポテンシャル(電位)が酸化還元反応を制御していると仮説を立て実験および理論的に検証した。実験(グルタチオンのAu(111)表面における自己組織化膜の形成,グルタチオン自己組織化単分子膜(GS-SAM)上での酸化還元反応:電極反応速度に与えるpHの効果,GS-SAM上での酸化還元反応:電極反応速度に与える多価カチオンの効果)および理論解析(グルタチオン自己組織化膜上での酸化還元反応速度のpH依存性およびCa-グルタチオン自己組織化膜上での酸化還元反応速度の電気2重層効果:Primitive modelを用いたモンテカルロシミュレーション)によって,Au(111)面上のグルタチオン自己組織化単分子膜上での酸化還元反応はイオンゲート機構よりも電気二重層効果により決定されていると結論づけられた。
