Research Abstract

二重ベータ崩壊・暗黒物質などの超稀現象探索実験を行うために必要な高感度放射線検出用シンチレータ(主としてフッ化カルシウム結晶)の開発研究を行った。結晶中に含まれる放射性不純物の低減を図るとともに、結晶の組成や物理パラメータを操作することによる高感度化(バックグラウンド低減)の可能性を探った。これらの研究の結果、不純物濃度の低減と、冷却による粒子弁別の効率化を確認し、高感度化が可能であることを示した。
