Research Abstract

ミリ波帯の電磁波に対する木質材料の透過や反射特性を明らかにし、材質、欠点、劣化や含水率の非破壊評価の手法を明らかにした。100GHzのミリ波が厚さ35mm程度の気乾木材を透過し、その材質識別の空間分解能は3mm程度(波長オーダー)であった。また透過強度(減衰)は電場と繊維走行のなす角度の他、木材の密度や含水率に依存した。ミリ波の反射成分から、表面および表層の材質、表面の凹凸の評価、木材中のシロアリの検出ができた。
