| Research Abstract |
東南アジアにおける吸血性昆虫ブユ(現在300種超, ブユ属の13亜属に分類)の1亜属および他の2亜属の7種グループの構成種(計75種)について, ミトコンドリア16S rRNA遺伝子の塩基配列を決め, 系統樹を作成し, グループ別に地理的分布も考慮して種分化の推定を行った. その結果, 多くのグループにおいて, 狭い地域内における種分化が示唆された. また, タイ北部において, 3種のブユが, 各々, 異なる3種のフィラリアを媒介していることを明らかにした.
