Research Abstract |
We found new philological facts in a process of editing texts of the two Arabic translations of Tetrabiblos by Ptolemy as follows : 1) we have 9 kinds of Arabic manuscripts of Hunayn's version 2) we could ascertain how far Thabit ibn Qurra had associated with the Hunayn's version 3) neither version of Hunayn nor of Umar was translated from the Syriac version which survives as a unique manuscript.
