| Research Abstract |
The two year Kaken project is just finished in March this year. During the last two year period an attempt was made to address very important issues such as root courses of conflict, how international community can help resolve those conflicts taking different conflict affected countries into account.
It was possible to get commissioned research reports from researchers from different countries in time. Some of the researchers who engaged in the project were very senior professors and they have published many papers. All of them have work experience also in conflict affected countries such as Nepal, Cambodia, and Sri Lanka. At the moment I have received all the draft papers from the writers and it is necessary to continue work with them in order to finalize those papers. After finalization of those reports I will start working on a book entitled Conflict formation, Development of International Cooperation. The proposed book will have about 10 chapters which are based on the submitted reports. In addition to these activities, a dissemination conference was organized together with the University of Colombo in December 2007. I also gave two disseminating seminars in Cambodia and Nepal.
