Research Abstract |
In this research, we focus on the activity of children's play, and investigate every day life and play of Japanese and Korean children. From this investigation, we grasp their under present conditions. Furthermore we analyze how Music, Arts and Crafts, and Physical education, Home economic which are known as skills in the school curriculum are connected with children's play in their everyday life. Based on this analysis, we suppose to study the relationship between children's play and the curriculum of practical skills. We have already studied in Japan and Korea (comparatively, these countries have similar curriculums) and compared Japanese and Korean children's play are how related and connected with practical subjects on our studies "A study which crossing several subjects of a valuation system of a classroom on subject educations" (a grant-in-aid of scientific studies, 2001-2003) and a study "Japanese and Korean subject educations guide" (2005) which are collected comparisons of post

war curriculums and of educational guidance methods. Based on results of these studies, first of all we compare Japanese children's play with Korean one conducting a survey of a total of 2000 children in countries and cities. Further we analyzed and studied on this survey. This analysis and study were announced on the subject of "A study of a comparison of children's play on Japan and Korea" by Saburo Kariya at International Leisure Recreation Seminar.December.2007. Then He pointed out Korean children's play were reflected deeply by the Korean social backgrounds : an intention of high educational background, declining birthrate, examinations in Korea. In questions from the floor, the study expanding Northeastern Asian area was suggested. To grasp experiences of children's everyday life from an actual situation of children's play, we continuously studied a relation with skills in the school curriculum. If we considered children's play were as their own accord and self concluded everyday life culture, Japanese children recognized a estrangement of their school curriculum culture formed by the curriculum of practical skills. And we proved Korean children recognize a connection of everyday life culture and skills in the school curriculum culture more than Japanese children. The result of this study is going to be reported as "A study of comparing practical skills in a curriculum with children's play on Japan and Korea" in the Educational society magazine of Korean and Japanese, August, 2008. But there is leaved a problem that we could not suggest new model of practical skills in a school curriculum that was one of our purposes in this study. Less
