| Research Abstract |
口も消化管も無いヒゲムシにおいて栄養物を提供してくれる化学合成細菌を、共生させているバクテリオサイトと呼ばれる細胞において、それらの細菌が細胞内でどの場所を占めているかを調べた。その結果、それらの細菌のほとんどは、バクテリオサイトと、その外周にある栄養貯蔵細胞層との間に存在する毛細血管に向いて存在していることが明らかになった。これは細菌の生産物を栄養貯蔵細胞全体に行き渡らすに都合が良いと判断された。
