Research Abstract

日本におけるシェイクスピア作品の翻案・翻訳受容について、フェミニズム理論を用い、またナショナリズムの観点から分析した。フェミニズム分析としては、日本で初めて女性としてシェイクスピア作品の全訳に取り組んでいる松岡和子の翻訳について、その功績と問題点を指摘した。ナショナリズムの観点からは、『オセロー』の翻案小説である宇田川文海『阪東武者』を、日本が「西洋化」することの不安を反映するテクストとして分析した。
