Research Abstract |
I compared the lexical items of sign languages in East Asia, namely, Japanese Sign Language, Taiwan Sign Language, and Korean Sign Language. Besides purchasing equipments including an HD camcorder for data recording and computers for data analysis, I visited Korea twice to collect data from native deaf signers of Korean Sign Language. An article appeared in a book published in 2007, and I presented five papers at conferences (three domestic and two international).
