Research Abstract

重い電子系化合物CeRhIn_5は,T_<Nh>=3.8K以下でq_h=(1/2,1/2,0.297)の変調を持つ不整合反強磁性を示す物質である。最近,この物質に静水圧を印加すると反強磁性は抑制され,それが消失する圧力P_c=1.5GPa近傍で超伝導が誘起されることが発見されたことにより,反強磁性と超伝導の関係について精力的に研究が進められている。一方,この系はRhサイトをCoに置換することによっても反強磁性は抑制され,Co濃度が約40%以上になると超伝導相が現れることが明らかになっている。そこで我々は反強磁性量子臨界点近傍の反強磁性状態の変化およびそれと超伝導相との関連を調べるために、CeRh_<1-x>Co_xIn_5の中性子弾性散乱実験を行った。その結果、Co中間濃度(x=0.5)では、それぞれq_h=(1/2,1/2,0.3),q_1=(1/2,1/2,0.4),q_c=(1/2,1/2,1/2)の波数ベクトルで表現される3種の独立なBraggピークが発生していることを発見した。偏極中性子散乱実験によれば,これらのBraggピークはすべてスピンフリップ散乱過程を含んでいることより,磁気散乱に起因するものと考えられる。一方、量子臨界点近傍(x〜0.7)においては、q_hの磁気構造は現れず、q_cおよびq_1の磁気秩序が観測される。q_cおよびq_1の波数を持つ反強磁性はCo置換によって新たに発生したものである。このことより、CeRh_<1-x>Co_xIn_5おける量子臨界現象は、従来考えられていたq_hの構造をもつ不整合反強磁性に起因するものではなく、q_cおよびその近傍の磁気変調をもつ反強磁性に起因するものと考えられ、それが超伝導発生に重要な寄与をなしていると期待される。
