Research Abstract

冬季東アジアモンスーンの経年変動に伴う偏西風変動には大まかに二つのパターンがあることを明らかにした。これらのパターンは冬季モンスーンの変動を考える際の「基本」となるものである。また、北日本の冬季気候に大きな影響を与える北極振動の時間発展の力学も明らかにした。さらに、熱帯海水温と冬季気候の関係を精密に解析し、今まであまり注目されてこなかった事実を明らかにした。これらの成果により、冬季東アジアモンスーンの経年変動の力学の理解および予測可能性の精度向上に貢献することができたと考えられる。
