Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Due to the corona pandemic, I had to cut down the number of field works into half. This has seriously affected both quality and quantity of this study. Nonetheless, I have managed to cover most of the research agendas and employ the research methods according to the agendas, if not in their entirety. These researches consist of 1) the observation of rituals conducted by practitioners and groups, namely. traditional healers, Pentecostal churches and Aladura churches, 2) interviews with these practitioners, 3) interviews with those who consider themselves to be bewitched, and 4) extended case study of the life of city dwellers. Literature review is made not just for witchcraft but urban cultures and societies where witchcraft is experienced and has led to writing articles for publication.
