| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Our study focus on the lifestyle of young adults in Japanese local areas, especially in the unfavorable condition of the country sides. We classified residential areas in a condition disadvantage area, a local central city, ordinance-designated city in a district and investigated a condition disadvantageous local characteristic. Since 2000s it is pointed out that a local demerit is overcome by convenience improvement of the ICT, and the tendency that is a longing to live in the city of the youth decline, but inspects this hypothesis in our survey. As a result, even if it is the same local district, the tendency is relaxed in the city, but there are not many settling up-oriented youths in the condition disadvantage area.
In addition, the proximity residence with the family is confirmed, and it is thought that I am considered when medical care and the welfare, labor circumstances or the education environment in the family decide a place of residence.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究では地方に生きる若者のライフスタイルや価値観について、社会科学的な把握をおこなっている。地方では若者の数が都会と比較して少ないため、量的調査を用いた客観的な調査研究が多くはない。本調査では技術的な限界を乗り越えて、条件不利地域における若者について焦点をあてることができた。その結果「地方」というカテゴリーのなかにもバリエーションがあり、とくに条件不利地域と地方中枢都市や政令指定都市では意識が異なることがわかった。またメディア利用がその地域的な不利を補完するには至っていないということも明らかとなった。
