Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本年度は、まず散逸量子系の緩和現象を系のダイナミクスを記述するリュービル演算子のスペクトルギャップを用いて研究した(Phys. Rev. Lett. 127, 070402 (2021))。具体的にはリュービル演算子の固有モードが系の境界付近でどのように振舞うかを調べ、系が定常状態へと緩和する時間スケールがリュービル演算子のスペクトルギャップだけではなく、固有モードの局在長に依存することを見出した。
また、散逸が存在する場合のフェルミ粒子系が示す超流動の集団励起と非平衡相転移の研究を行った(Phys. Rev. Lett. 127, 055301 (2021))。理論的枠組みとしてはBCS理論に2体ロスを導入した。その結果、散逸をスイッチオンすることで超流動の秩序パラメータの振幅の振動が誘起され、粒子のロスに伴い超流動の位相回転がチャープすることを見出した。そのような散逸をジョセフソン接合を構成する片側の超流動に導入することによって散逸由来の非平衡なダイナミカル相転移が引き起こされることを見出した。
2成分からなるボース・アインシュタイン凝縮の研究においては、成分間のエンタングルメント・エントロピーおよびエンタングルメント・スペクトルを調べた (Phys. Rev. A 103, 04321 (2021))。その結果、エンタングルメント・エントロピーが成分間のトンネリングが存在する場合に異常な分散関係を示すことを明らかにした。この分散関係は超流動速度と粒子密度間に実効的に長距離相互作用が発現することを示している。

Reason

本研究の研究目的は、超流動・多体局在や時間結晶などのエキゾチック相を研究し、また、量子気体顕微鏡で測定の反作用を受けた多体ダイナミックスを系統的に記述する理論的枠組みを構築することである。このうち、時間結晶などにみられるエキゾチック相を明らかにする研究は完成し、また、量子気体顕微鏡で測定の反作用を受けた多体ダイナミックスに関する多面的研究も当初の計画に沿って完了した。さらに、これらの系を制御することで新奇な多体効果を発見することを目指した研究を引き続き遂行し、「研究実績の概要」で述べた研究成果が得られた。そこで述べた散逸により誘起されるリュービリアン緩和現象やジョセフソン接合における散逸相転移は当初目的に沿ったものではあるが、当初予期しなかった重要な研究成果であるといえる。また、2成分ボース・アインシュタイン凝縮体の研究は当初計画に合ったものではあるが、有効場の理論を構築することでエンタングルメント・エントロピーとスペクトルを計算することに成功し、その結果、超流動速度や密度の間に実効的な長距離相互作用が発現することを明らかにした成果は当初の計画を超える成果であるといえる。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

「現在までの進捗状況」で述べたように、本研究の当初の主たる目的は、PT対称な系における非平衡相転移・超流動・多体局在の研究、非平衡状態で発現するエキゾチック相の探求、そして、観測下の多粒子系のダイナミックスの基礎理論の構築という非平衡開放系に特有の問題に取り組むことであった。これらは「現在までの進捗状況」で述べたように当初目的を遂行しただけでなく、それを上回る研究成果が得られた。今後は、その過程で明らかになった新たな可能性をさらに探求する。特に、開放量子系における散逸の効果の重要性に着目して研究を推進する。この効果の重要性は、上に述べたように従来は散逸を無視して議論されてきたジョセフソン効果に2体の粒子ロスを導入することで散逸によって誘起される相転移の発現からも理解できる。また、時間結晶においても散逸の効果を導入することによってヒーティングを抑圧して定常的な時間結晶状態状態が発生できることが最近、実験的にも明らかになりつつある。今後はさらに、散逸系によって安定化される励起状態の超流動発現する新奇現象の可能性も探求する。
