Outline of Annual Research Achievements

今年度は以下のように研究が進展した。

奇パリティ磁気多極子相の特有の非線形電気伝導および光電流効果を解明した。まず時間反転対称性と時空間反転対称性(PT対称性)を用いて、バンド理論の範囲内で現れうる非線形伝導度、非線形ホール伝導度、2次の光電流を完全に分類した。その結果に基づいて、奇パリティ磁気多極子相では巨大な非線形ホール効果や磁場誘起の非線形縦伝導が起こることを示した。光電流に関しては、シフト電流や注入電流といった既知のものに加えて、旋回電流、内因的フェルミ面効果と名付けた新たな光電流が存在することを突き止めた。さらに、トポロジカルな反強磁性体において旋回電流が著しく増大することも示した。具体例としてCuMnAsを選び、この物質の低エネルギー状態を記述するタイトバインディング模型を解析した。

また、ネマティック秩序相を特徴づける物理量である電気四極子モーメントの量子力学公式を導出した。これにより、理論モデルや物質によらない一般的な表式が得られた。この公式を第一原理計算と組み合わせて、鉄系超伝導体および銅酸化物高温超伝導体の電気四極子モーメントを評価した。電気四極子モーメントの量子力学公式は、幾何学的な項とフェルミ面由来の項に分解することができるが、鉄系超伝導体では幾何学的な項が主要であるのに対し、銅酸化物高温超伝導体ではフェルミ面由来の項が重要である。このように両者の間で電気四極子モーメントの主な起源が異なることが示された。

Reason

本研究の計画は、奇パリティ多極子秩序相の分類学を完成し、それを具現化する物質を同定する。そして、その新しい機能性である電磁応答と超伝導を解明することである。研究の具体的な手順として当初は以下のように計画した。① 奇パリティ多極子の群論的な分類学の完成 ② 磁気点群の解析による候補物質の同定と分類 ③ 線形応答理論を用いた電磁応答の解明 ④ 第一原理計算による候補物質の比較研究
これらの研究計画は順調に進行しており、既に①ー④に関して重要な研究成果を得た。昨年度はこれらに加えて非線形伝導および光電流の研究を行い、これら非線形応答および非線形光学応答に対しても奇パリティ多極子相がユニークな研究対象となることを明らかにした。これにより、当初は想定していなかった光物性分野との強い接点があることが分かった。
また、幾つかの奇パリティ多極子モーメントに対して厳密な量子力学公式を得ることができた。その結果を第一原理計算と組み合わせて鉄系超伝導体の電気四極子モーメントを評価した。これらも当初は想定していなかった研究の進展である。
以上の理由により、当初の計画以上に進展していると評価する。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

昨年度までに得た成果に基づいて、今後はさらに包括的な研究を行う。
具体的には、
⑤ 奇パリティ多極子秩序相における非線形応答現象の包括的解明
⑥ 第一原理計算による多極子モーメントと電磁応答の評価
⑦ 超伝導への発展
を目指して研究を行う。
