Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究の目的は、電子ビームイオントラップ(EBIT)装置を用いて多価イオンからの極端紫外域(EUV)発光スペクトルの時間分解分光により電離断面積を測定する手法を新規に開発することである。本測定法では、EBITの電子ビームエネルギーをパルス変調させることで、電離非平衡状態の高価数多価イオンを生成する。そして、多価イオンが平衡状態へと緩和する過程で発する極端紫外域の発光線スペクトルの時間変化から電離断面積を求める。
今年度は、前年度に引き続き、核融合科学研究所の小型EBIT(CoBIT)装置に設置されているEUV分光器の改修を進めた。具体的には、マイクロチャンネルプレートを用いた位置有感型EUV光検出システム、検出されたEUV光信号のマルチチャンネルアナライザの構築を行い、Pythonによるデータ解析用のソフトを作成した。このように、本研究の実施に必要な核融合科学研究所のCoBIT装置でのEUV発光分光測定システムの改修は概ね完了した。
また、本研究では測定された電離断面積と、相対論的歪曲波ボルン近似による理論計算とを比較することにより、電離断面積および電離速度係数データの定量的評価を行うことも目的としている。これに係わり、これまでに核融合科学研究所の大型ヘリカル装置(LHD)を用いて測定された、磁場閉じ込めプラズマ中でのタングステン多価イオンからの可視域発光線スペクトルを解析し、理論計算によって構築された電離・再結合断面積データの評価を行った。その結果、電離平衡モデルが成り立つ範囲では、電離・再結合断面積データが正しいことを示唆する結果が得られた。

Reason

核融合科学研究所の実験装置の改修が進展した。次年度から本格的な実験を実施できるめどが立った。一方、時間発展型衝突・輻射モデルなどの理論開発が予定より遅れている。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

核融合科学研究所では、遅れていた実験装置の改修が今年度までに概ね完了したので、次年度から実験を本格的に実施するとともに、実験データの解析に必要な理論モデルの開発を加速させる。また、電気通信大学では核融合研と連携して相補的な実験データの取得を行う。
