Outline of Annual Research Achievements

ドイツ重イオン研究所にて実施したη′核分光実験(実験課題番号 S490)のデータ解析を進めている。実験は約5日間のビームタイムで行われ 毎秒一億個程度の 2.5GeV 陽子ビームを炭素標的に照射し、12C(p,d)反応により前方に放出される重陽子と、標的周囲に放出される粒子を大立体角検出器WASAでコインシデンス計測することで行った。本補助金により標的を取り囲む円筒状に配置したプラスティックシンチレータ(PSB)を作成しWASA内に配置した。PSB によりデータ取得のトリガ供給や粒子識別を行った。前方重陽子をトリガーとした一千万イベント、約30TB程度のデータを取得した。これにより実験課題提案時の統計量を達成した。前方に放出された荷電粒子は、破砕核分離装置FRS中の飛行時間やシンチレータ中のエネルギー損失等を計測することで、粒子識別された。高い粒子多重度に対応するため、シンチレータ等は波形をデジタル化して記録し、オフラインではほぼバックグラウンドフリーな計測を実現した。前方重陽子の運動量はFRSによりイオン光学的に解析され、そのエネルギー分解能は 2 MeV 以下で十分良い。WASA は1Tのソレノイド磁場を印可して運用し、おおよそ当初想定通りの粒子識別能力、運動量分解能が得られている。現在、FRS と WASA のデータを結合した解析を行っており、解析の状況については国際会議を含む研究会等で発表し、プロシーディングの形で報告している。解析が終わり次第、論文執筆を行い、投稿、出版の予定である。また、次期実験に向けた考察を行う。
