Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、地面から数百km上空までの大気圏・電離圏結合のメカニズムへの理解を目指し、さまざまな気象現象が超高層大気へ及ぼす影響を観測と数値シミュレーションを用いて解明している。今年度は対流圏温暖化を引き起こした二酸化炭素の上昇を考慮した大気圏・電離圏結合の変動を大気モデルを用いて数値実験を行いた。主に、二酸化炭素を340ppmvから2倍になる時、熱圏・電離圏がどのように変化するかを調べた。その結果、熱圏は寒冷化されるとともに、大気循環も強まるというダイナミックの変化が明らかになった。これにより、電離圏密度分布が変わり、エルニーニョなどの気象現象に対する反応も変調される。
