Outline of Annual Research Achievements

2019年は、関連する論文を含め9編の論文を発表した。特に円偏光に関する主な3つの成果は以下のとおりである。
(1)修正されたハルデンモデルをハミルトニアンとして採用し、2次元物質における円偏光二色性について議論し、Phys. Rev. B に発表した。修正されたハルデンモデルは、ブリルアン領域のK点とK’点におけるエネルギーギャップの値が異なるように変化することができるので、円偏光二色性を変調することができることを示した。
(2)2次元の物質中に、磁場をかけなくてもホール伝導度が存在する場合を考えると、この物質に、ファラデー効果とカー効果が起こるだけでなく、円偏光二色性が起きることを理論的に示した。この結果もPhys. Rev. B に発表した。
(3)半導体カーボンナノチューブをドープすると、ドープしない場合のエネルギーバンド間の光吸収スペクトルは、伝導帯に電子が占有する(または価電子帯にホールが占有する)ために消失する。さらにドープをすると、別のエネルギーのところに強い光吸収が起きる。この光吸収は、表面プラズモン励起による光吸収であることを、誘電率の計算によって示した。表面プラズモン励起による光吸収は、ナノチューブの(n,m)の値に依存し、フェルミエネルギーの関数として与えられる。この結果もPhys. Rev. B に発表した。
そのほかの研究成果としては、(4)2次元物質InSe、テトラダイマイトやスズカルコゲナイドの熱電性能を理論的に計算し3編の論文に発表した。(5)ナトリウムイオン電池の性能に関する理論的研究を第一原理計算を用いて行った。(6)グラフェンのナノリボン上に電磁波をあてると、エッジプラズモンが励起され、その結果誘起された電場が回転することを理論的計算で明らかにした。(7)ナノチューブの熱電性能に関してレビュー論文を執筆した。

Reason

2次元物質と円偏光に関係する複数の現象について、同時に解明するなど科研費を申請したときに提示した問題の80%は2年目ですでに解決したといえる。また、関連する2次元物質の熱電性能や、電池としての性能に関しても共同研究によって明らかにしている。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

科研費の申請時に提示した、エレクトロルミネッセンスの問題を解決し、科研費の申請時の問題をすべて解決する。また、グラフェンや2次元物質の円偏光における物性として表面プラズモンが重要であることを認識した。この表面プラズモンの物性に関しては、今後の研究において重点的に推進する。
