Outline of Final Research Achievements

In this project, we succeeded to generate about 10 times higher flux LCS gamma-rays using a 50 W fiber laser installed into the BL1U at UVSOR-III. By using this enhanced LCS gamma-rays, an isotope (Pb-208) selective 3D CT image has been taken. Furthermore, we succeeded to obtain a 1mm pixel resolution of the isotope (Pb-208) selective 3D CT image by developing a fusion visualization method.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究開発により、原子力安全に必須の核セーフティ/セキュリティに対し、基盤技術となる特定の同位体のサンプル中での3次元分布を、ガンマ線を用いて、実用可能な時間内での3次元分布の取得を可能にした。本技術は従来シミュレーション研究のみが世界中で実施されてきたが、本研究で実験的に本技術の実証を行うとともに、短時間・高分解画像の取得法までも提示した、意義のある研究成果を得た。
