| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The aim of this study is to investigate the efficacy of bio-signal synchronized ambient stimuli on human. We developed a real-time ambient feedback system in which the ambient stimuli, e.g., sound, lighting, aroma, physical pressure, etc., are changed in accordance with human physiological signal, such as heart rate, respiration, and skin conductance. As for the results, it was suggested that such an interactive ambient feedback stimuli induced the modulation of not only autonomic nervous system activity, which was used as a reference bio-signal for feedback, but central nervous system activity.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究は、人間の生体リズムに適応的な環境刺激が人間の生理状態に及ぼす影響について科学的に検証したものである。心拍動や呼吸などの生体情報をリアルタイムに反映するフィードバック系を構築した結果、その様な特殊な環境刺激が、参照情報とした自律神経系のみならず中枢神経系にまで及ぶことが示唆された。この研究は我々が知る限り学術的に未踏領域であり、新たな学術領域へと発展する潜在性を有すると考えている。
