| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Based on the data of the Japan Nurse Health Study, we reported (1) Cumulative prevalence of female hormones (oral contraceptives OC/LEP and hormone replacement therapy HRT) users in woman’s life-course, user characteristics, and risks (breast cancer and endometrial cancer) of long-term use, (2) Associations between weight control and diseases; BMI change and knee pain, adolescent BMI and onset of diabetes in adulthood, and birth weight and hypertension during pregnancy, (3) Supplement and soy product intake, and soy product intake and osteoporosis, (4) Menopausal symptoms and their risk factors. In addition, risk factors for premature ovarian insufficiency and early menopause, and associations between reproductive events and cardiovascular diseases were published based on the data of the international cross-cohort study, InterLACE.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
既に社会で利用されているヘルスケア法の評価では，外的妥当性の観点から，ランダム化比較予防試験ではなく，前向きコホート研究などのリアル・ワールド・データを利用した研究で行わざるを得ない。ヘルスケア法におけるリアル・ワールド・エビデンスの価値はますます高まっている。また，人種・民族，生活保健習慣などが大きく異なる欧米におけるリアル・ワールド・エビデンスを，確認することなく本邦女性に一般化することはできない。そのため，本邦女性を対象にした女性コホート研究，および世界の女性コホートの統合データから得られた本研究のエビデンスは，大きな学術的また社会的意義があると考える。
