Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究は、①金属酸化物ナノワイヤの精密結晶成長制御技術を駆使して“ナノワイヤ表面に分子形状を記憶“させた堅牢な分子識別機能の多様な分子群への適用可能性と限界を調べ、②分子識別性を有する酸化物ナノ構造をシリコン基板上で集積化して、堅牢な分子識別酸化物ナノワイヤ構造とセンサとの集積化ハイブリッド分子センサを創製し、③1024個の分子センサを集積化させたセンサアレイを実証するというアプローチにより進めている。
酸化物ナノワイヤ構造の結晶成長プロセスにおいて、分子識別ターゲット分子(アルデヒド・ケトン)と結晶成長界面との相互作用により分子形状特性が反映されたナノワイヤ表面を創製し、高温環境にも耐え得る堅牢な分子識別機能を実証することに成功した。①GC-MS脱離スペクトル解析による分子認識能評価、②TEM解析、ラマン分光、EXAFSによる固体表面構造評価、③赤外分光pMAIRS法による分子吸着状態評価を行い、分子識別機能の限界(耐熱性・識別分解能)を探索すると共にその分子形状記憶メカニズムを明らかにすることで、ナノワイヤ分子識別機能の堅牢性とそのメカニズムを検証した。

Reason

堅牢な分子識別機能を持つナノワイヤ表面の形成評価技術については、ナノワイヤ表面に分子形状を記憶させる条件を探索し、5 種類以上の類似分子混合物から狙いの分子の 10 倍以上の識別性をGC-MS で実証するという 達成項目をいずれも達成した。
堅牢な分子識別酸化物ナノワイヤとセンサとの集積化ハイブリッド分子センサについては、分子認識表面上への分子吸着の選択性及び分子-表面間の結合力の差異に基づく分子脱離の選択性を利用して夾雑分子群から標的分子を電流識別するといった当初計画の狙い通りの結果が得られた。また、1024 個の集積化センサアレイの実証について、集積化アレイセンサデバイスに関しては、1024 センサの集積化デバイスの作製、センサの抵抗読み取り動作、分子検出動作の実証に成功した。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

現在までに開発した分子認識表面の作製・解析手法に関して、分子識別の耐熱性及び耐久性、具体的には 400 ℃以上の温度および数百回レベルの繰り返し耐久試験を行うことでこれを評価し、分子形状記憶が破壊される条件が材料物性とどのように相関するかを検証することによって、より高い耐久性を有する分子認識表面を実現し、その堅牢性を実証する。分子識別能の高度化においては、異種イオンの混合や表面分子修飾による終端官能基構造の変調といった手法でナノワイヤ表面の分子識別能力を最適化し、連鎖異性・位置異性といったより高度な構造異性を有する分子群の識別へと展開する。具体的には、分子認識における最難関課題の一つと目される直鎖脂肪鎖中の官能基位置の識別を達成することで、本手法がきわめて高い分子認識能を持つことを実証する。
堅牢な分子識別酸化物ナノワイヤとセンサとの集積化ハイブリッド分子センサの高度化に関しては、これまでに原理実証に成功した集積化ハイブリッド分子センサ技術をさらに発展させ、堅牢な分子センシング技術の構築と 小型集積化デバイスの開発に取り組む。具体的には、現在までに得られている耐熱性に加え、フードサイエンスや生体呼気センシングを志向した高湿度環境下における堅牢な分子センシング技術を構築する。
1024 個の集積化センサアレイの実証に関しては、これまでに確立した集積化センサアレイデバイス技術を基盤として、センサアレイ上に化学的に異なるセンサの集積化と複数分子群の時系列データ取得・認識に取り組む。
