Outline of Annual Research Achievements

量子状態集約の量子通信コスト
分散量子情報処理において中心的役割を果たすタスクである量子状態集約(quantum state merging)に必要な量子通信コストに関し、分散量子情報処理において重要となる数十から数百量子ビット程度までの小・中規模領域の量子情報処理を扱うことができるone-shotの設定で解析し、量子エラー訂正符号などの具体例を用いて量子通信コストを具体的に評価した。その結果、こうした小・中規模領域において、大規模通信を目的として行われてきた先行研究よりも効率的に量子状態集約を行える例を具体的に求めることができ、本研究の結果の有用性が示された。

量子状態集約による分散符号化した量子情報の解析
本研究課題であった古典通信の制約と量子通信コストの間の一般的関係に関し、量子状態集約においてトレードオフ関係が表れることを示した。量子状態集約に必要な量子通信量は、通信方向が一方向に限られている場合には、部分的量子情報を表していると解釈できる。漸近的な設定では、双方向通信が許されていても通信コストは一方向通信と同じになることが知られていたため、 双方向通信が許されている一般的な状況下においても部分的量子情報によって特徴づけられると考えられてきた。しかし、漸近的な設定では大規模な量子情報処理を行う必要があるため、本研究ではより実際的な設定として、比較的小規模な量子情報処理を扱えるone-shotの設定を考察した。そして、one-shot設定で双方向通信が許されている際には、一方向通信のみの場合と通信コストの異なる場合があることを証明した。この結果は、双方向通信が許されている場合には、分散符号化した量子情報を特徴づける概念として、部分的量子情報と解釈できない新たな量子情報の概念が存在することを示しており、この概念をspread quantum informationと名付けた。
