Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
The optical setup to generate the hyper entangled photon pair has been completed by the final measurement stage, along with the electronics that are used to execute the coupling between the system state (polarization degree-of-freedom) and the meter state (time-of-arrival degree-of-freedom). The initial alignment yielded insufficient visibility at the output of the interferometer, which forced us to refine the original design and led to some delay in implementing the experiment and getting results. The superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors have been completely installed and are now ready to be used. All the theoretical results about nonlocal measurements without maximally-entangled meter states obtained so far have been summarized in a paper that has been uploaded on the arXiv, and which is to be submitted to a peer-reviewed journal soon.
