Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では,主として,「廃棄魚骨由来のヒドロキシアパタイト(以降FbA)の吸着特性」を明らかにすると同時に,「吸着メカニズム」について解明,さらには1年次での研究成果を受けて,吸着が困難であったヒ素,六価クロムを無害化するべく,FbAをベースとした新規吸着材(ハイブリッド吸着材)を,陰イオンに対しても吸着性能を持つこと,pH値に依存しないこと,重金属イオンに対して高い選択性を持つことの3つに留意して開発し,吸着試験を実施した.新規吸着材,Functionalized Fishbone Powder(以降FFP)は鉄化合物とFbPを合成したハイブリッド吸着材であり,FFPを用いて各種重金属に対して吸着振とう試験を行った結果,FFPは2価の陽イオンだけでなく,溶液中では陰イオンの形態をとるAs3+に対しても高い吸着性能を示した.今般開発したFFPは,蒸留水中のAs3+のみならず,塩水中のAs3+に対しても高い吸着性能を示し,As3+に対する選択性の高さを明らかにした.また,pH値を調整した吸着振とう試験の結果から,pH値(酸性あるいは中性)に依存せず吸着できることが確認された.さらに,振とう試験によって得られた平衡吸着濃度と吸着量から吸着等温線を作成し,吸着メカニズムについても議論した.吸着等温線より,各種重金属に対して化学的な吸着が卓越していることが明らかになった.特に,2価の重金属イオンに対する吸着力は非常に強く,FbPよりも重金属イオンに対する選択性が向上した.なお,FFPの研究成果については,特許出願に向けて企業等と打ち合わせを行っており,具体的な作製方法と実験データについては,記載を割愛する.また,FFPでも吸着が困難であった六価クロムについては,異なる廃棄物の性能に着目し,土壌中の六価クロムを無害化し,その成果について国際学会にて発表,Journalに投稿した.
