Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
In this fiscal year, I managed to finish the planned research projects- study of pancreatic cancer plasticity after treatment with self-assembling peptides and regulation of breast cancer stem cells by microRNA. Both projects showed promising results and effects by biologically mimic peptides and exogenous microRNA on pancreatic and breast cancer cell plasticity, leading to diminished tumor volume and invasion in vivo. Both studies were summarized as my doctoral thesis which was successfully defended within this fiscal year. Following graduation, I continue to study protein structure prediction and investigation using Cryo-electron microscopy and tomography which are important for drug discovery to widen my research skills and understanding in the field.
