Outline of Annual Research Achievements

産業・学理の多分野に最も広く利用される市販レオメータの原型は、二百年以上前に完成されており、ラボレベルの分析に用いられるトルク式の市販レオメータは、高い計測精度を実現している。一方、計測確度の保証にはいくつかの仮定が満たされる必要があるが、多くの非ニュートン性流体ではそれが満たされないことが多い。最たる要因として、測定対象物質と回転子壁面との間での滑りや、局所剪断層の発現、弾性的不安定性などが数多く報告されている。これらはすべて「流動」に起因する現象である。市販レオメータのユーザーの多くには認知されておらず 、出力結果が盲信されている現状がある。この場合、レオメータにおける幾何設計固有の応答のみが計測され、得られる物性の実用性が乏しい。流体挙動を直接計測し、物性値の導出を試みる新たな手段が求められている。本研究では、速度分布計測と運動方程式に基づく運動学的レオメトリ (Kinematic を提案し、確立を目指す。これは、複雑流体のダイナミクスに対して、運動方程式を満たすようなレオロジー物性を逆算・定量化することができる。
本年度は、非ニュートン性流体に適用可能な超音波スピニングレオメトリUSR を可搬型の技術として昇華させた。以前のUSRにおける計測方式では、サンプルを1L程度取り出す必要があったが、その必要がなくなり、貯蔵タンク内で計測を行うことができるようになった。現在、当該技術とインラインレオメータ技術の双方について論文における発表を控えている状況である。今後は、これら特許技術を足掛か りとして、企業・医療機関等と共同で開発研究を進めている計画を立てており、化学工業と食品工業、並びに医療研究機関とすでに計画がある。レオメータとしてのプロトタイプを完成させるとともに、即時産業応用可能なツールを開発するのが、今後の直近目標である。
