Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究は光リング共振器を用いて光速の異方性を探査することで光子のローレンツ不変性を高精度検証することを目的としている。我々はこれまで簡易な信号変調のための非連続回転系と光学系を用いて、6e-15レベルでの世界最高精度で奇パリティの異方性探査を行ってきた。その感度は回転に伴う振動雑音で制限されていたため、振動感度を低減することでさらなる高精度検証を目指している。 当年度は、ローレンツ不変性の破れが示唆されている光速差で-17乗の世界最高精度で片道光速の異方性を検証するために、回転機構の調整を行うことが目的であった。本年度は回転台部の傾きを調整するなどして雑音源の把握に努めた。
また、ある種のローレンツ不変性の破れが許されている重力理論においては重力波は非テンソル的な偏極成分を持つことが許される。重力波の自由度の性質はこのように重力理論を反映するので、重力波の偏極モード検証によって重力理論検証が可能となる。本年度は本研究課題を派生させ、GW170814やGW170817といったコンパクト連星合体からの重力波イベントに対して、重力波の偏極モードを二つの枠組みで解析した。1つ目はコンパクト連星合体からの重力波の純偏極モード探査解析である。コンパクト連星合体からの重力波観測データを、軌道傾斜角依存性を考慮して再解析し、テンソルモードが支配的であることを示した。得られた制限は先行研究を大きく上回るものであり強く一般相対論を支持する結果が得られた。2つ目はスカラー・テンソル理論などで予言されているようなスカラーとテンソルモードの混合偏極モード探査解析である。その結果、スカラーモード振幅に強重力場で最も強い一般相対性理論に無矛盾な制限を与えた。合体直前の強い重力場で付加的なスカラーモード振幅に制限を与えたのは初めてであり、現実の拡張重力理論に対する観測的知見を得た。
