Outline of Annual Research Achievements

ケモセンサは,分子間・分子内相互作用を合目的に組み込み設計することで,標的種の捕捉・認識に伴うミクロな情報を我々が知覚可能なレベルにまで増幅することができる。交差応答性を示す複数のケモセンサから構築されるセンサアレイは,パターン認識を駆使することにより,多成分の迅速かつ同時検出を可能にすることから,多岐に渡る分野での活用が期待されている。しかし,従来のケモセンサアレイは,標的種の同時検出に必要な光学応答変化を多数のケモセンサを用いて作り出しているため,各ケモセンサ分子を一つ一つ合成する労力は多大となる。合成化学者の視点では,その労力は問題にはならない一方,分析化学者から見るとその難度は非常に高く,実分析へと展開する上での大きな障壁となっている。他方,アレイを構築する数多くのセンサ数に対し,実際に判別に寄与するセンサはそのうちのごく一部である。従って,ケモセンサ自体の機能を最大限に引き出し,並べたミニマムセンサアレイが構築できれば,上述の課題解決に繋がると考える。
ミニマムセンサアレイの達成には,少ない構成分子数であっても多彩な光学応答パターンを創出するセンサ設計が必要となる。本研究では,分子間相互作用を基軸としたケモセンサの開発を指向し,動的共有結合及び配位結合に着目した。これらの結合が示す可逆性は,複数種の複合体形成を可能とするため,指示薬,認識部位,標的種間で生じる複合化に基づき,多彩な色調変化をもたらす。すなわち,当該分子間相互作用を活用したケモセンサを設計することが出来れば,比較的簡便にケモセンサが調製可能となるだけでなく,少数の分子数あってもその組み合わせによって指紋パターンが得られる。本研究では,それぞれの分子間相互作用を活用したミニマムセンサアレイを用いて,カチオン,アニオン,糖類,キラル種の包括的検出を実証した。
