Outline of Final Research Achievements |
I considered the haikai activities of the Daimyo lord poet, Yanagisawa Beiou, who has a deep connection with Santo Kyoden, from the relationship with Beiou's haikai master, Syunrai Maeda (Nisei Seiga). I revealed that Syunrai aimed at Edo-za haikai based on Kikaku and Ransetsu's haikai style and greatly influenced haikai in Edo. In addition, I investigated the introduction of tea utensils in which Santo Kyoden's patron, Matsudaira Setsusen's older brother, Matsue Feudal Lord, Matsudaira Fumai, and Yoshiwara, and others were involved. From the tea utensils that appear in Santo Kyoden's "Tsugen Somagaki," it was found that his brother, Fumai, was also depicted as a model of the person who purchased the tea ceremony and that Kyoden had shared the culture with Fumai. Furthermore, it was revealed that Daikokuya Shoroku of Yoshiwara possessed the tea utensils Goshomaru and that cultural exchange through tea utensils was taking place in Yoshiwara.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
