| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, I deciphered the entire text of the "The Diary of Matsudaira Mikinosuke During in Edo" written by a senior samurai of the Shonai domain, Matsudaira Mikinosuke Hisashige. Matsudaira Mikinosuke served in Edo for 13 months from August of the first year of the Genji Era (1864) as a captain in charge of Edo city control. He wrote a total of 50 illustrated diaries and sent them to his family in Tsuruoka. Mikinosuke also wrote over 100 letters to his family at the same time as his diary. This letter and the diary are complementary. Deciphering and studying both has revealed much. The research results were compiled into a research report and made widely available in PDF format. In February 2023, I organized a special exhibition, "The Diary of Matsudaira Mikinosuke During in Edo - Pictorial Diary of a Samurai -" at the Kanagawa Prefectural Museum of History.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
近年江戸勤番武士の日記が注目されているが、上級武士による日記、しかも自筆挿絵入りのものはかつてなく、類を見ない資料といえる。内容も職務日誌ではなく、造酒助の一日の生活を詳細に記したもので、上級武士の在勤生活を具体的に見ることができる。また、庄内藩が担った江戸市中取締についての実態を示す貴重な資料でもある。これら松平造酒助による日記・書簡を全文翻刻し、ＰＤＦで公開したことで、庄内藩史研究や江戸在勤武士研究だけでなく、幕末江戸の生活や風俗等、様々な角度からの利用が見込まれる。また、展覧会やYouTube動画等で紹介し、研究者から一般の方々まで広く認知され、楽しんでいただくことができた。
