Outline of Final Research Achievements

In this study, for students in teacher training in the Department of mathematics education (including school teachers) reseached a cloud-based distance collaborative learning using IoT. IoT, which leads to innovation, is said that it leads to the development of not only programming skills but also creative thinking ability that connect glocal objects and information. Although it was greatly affected by COVID-19, it was able to be increased the knowledge of educational content related to IoT with researchers in Japan and abroad. It also found that Fermi tasks, which quickly solves problems by rough estimate, was effective for creative thinking abilty. It then took up Fermi tasks, which deals with the SDGs around students and teachers under STEAM education, and compiled it into a collection of teaching materials that also proposed evaluation criteria and methods for creative thinking ability.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

将来の姿を展望するとき,知識・技能以外に,新たな価値の創造が求められている。Fermi推定は,世界的企業の採用試験に用いられる等,社会的変化に順応する思考力の1つである。それは思考過程の中での新たなアイデアや発想が,創造的思考力を育むからである。さらに「技術革新」が誕生するIoTについては,「創造性とは、いろいろなモノをつなぐ力だ」(スティーブ・ジョブズ)という特徴を持つ。創造的思考力調査においては,日本のZ世代の意識が低い結果がある。IoTとFermi推定を結びつける意義は,SDGsの問題解決等の活動を通して,創造的思考力を高めるSTEAM教育としての価値を有するだろう。
