| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
A multicenter, randomized, open-label, parallel-group comparative study was conducted to verify whether a smartphone app that allows participants to experience behavioral activation, assertiveness training, and problem-solving therapy is effective in improving depression in parents of children with autism spectrum disorder. The study participants were parents aged 20 to 60 years old who were raising their own children in elementary and junior high school (aged 6 to 16 years old) who had been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. 73 participants participated, with 31 assigned to the intervention group and 32 to the control group, and all participants completed the study. Although there were protocol deviations due to the subject exclusion criteria, all participants were included in the analysis. The primary endpoint, PHQ-9 scores after 8 weeks, decreased in both groups, but the difference was not significant. In conclusion, no evidence of effectiveness was obtained.

自閉スペクトラム症の親では抑うつが高いことが知られている。我々はスマートフォンアプリでできる問題解決療法の開発に取り組み、行動活性化、アサーション訓練、問題解決療法を組み合わせて、これが自閉スペクトラム症の親の抑うつの改善に有効であるかどうか、多施設共同・ランダム化・非盲検・並行群間比較試験を実施して検証した。今回の研究では、介入群と対照群で有意差は認められず有効性を示すことはできなかった。一方で両群ともベースラインより抑うつが改善しており、対象者の選定、問題解決療法の進め方、他の認知行動療法の組み合わせの仕方などによっては有効性を示すことができる可能性を示した。
