Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, I surveyed Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) that is one of the key principles of waste managements and aims to promote Design for the Environment (DfE) in Japan. DfE is essential for building a recycling-based society since DfE promotes reduce and reuse strategies. By focusing my survey on DfE promotion strategies aimed at processing and recycling stages under the End-of-life Vehicle Recycling Law, I was able to gain many insights that I had not expected. EPR was implemented at the early stages of effectuation of Japan’s waste law system, which were roughly designed but pioneeringly enacted.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
