| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this research is to explore the heritage values of urban spaces that have been created by urban planning in Japan, and to practically construct and grasp social presentation methods to communicate such heritage values to citizens. In this research, we launched the "Town Memory Research Group in Takamatsu" and have been researching the history of urban formation in Takamatsu. We also created illustrations as part of an investigation into social presentation methods aimed at younger generations, and presented the results at lectures held by the Takamatsu City Historical Museum and the Volunteer Guide Association. Based on the results of the research, I wrote and published a book called "Takamatsu: The Story of Umijiro-machi." I also held an exhibition on the subject of "Memories of the Town," which was a certain success.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
本研究は他都市との比較から高松が有する都市景観上の特徴を把握し、その特徴の表出を都市形成の観点から詳細に分析を試みた。これまで城郭研究のなかでも明確な把握が進まなかった近世期の「海城」に関して、本研究では景観上の観点から「海城」を定義したうえで、その全国的な分布を調査した結果、西日本の湾内に建設された24地区の海城町の所在を明らかにしており、都市計画研究の学術的成果として高く評価できる。また、専門的知見を専門家のみならず、非専門家に向けてイラストや絵図を用いて、例えば講演会や展覧会を通じた社会的プレゼンテーション手法の実践的検討は、今後の地方都市における社会課題解決に対しても貢献できる。
