| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, by using microfilm copies and reprints of various versions of "Kokin Yozaisho", "Hyakunin Isshu Kaikansho", and "Shinchokusenshu Hyochu", I chose noteworthy analysis terms then compiling them in an Excel file and analyzing them, while considering the formation process of each piece. The reasons for narrowing down the pieces into these works was not only due to the number of annotations, but also the extent of their influence on later generations, especially the present day, and the time of formation. As for the time of formation, I chose them because I intended to follow Keichu's interests after his studies of the Japanese language and his writing of "Man'yo Daishoki", in other words, after building the foundation for annotation, until his final years.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
契沖による研究成果は広く知られ、活用されているが、手法や態度については、岩波書店『契沖全集』（1973-76刊）以後は数が少ない。本来、成果の活用は、それが記された文脈や意図といった注釈のあり方が判明した上で行うものである。契沖の使用する言葉の意味について、辞書的なものに止まらない、契沖独自の脈絡も含めた把握を目指した。契沖の評語については今なおまとまった分野の総合的な分析報告はないため、今後も追究を続け、成果公開による社会還元を行いたい。
