Outline of Final Research Achievements

We used dinuclear cobalt, nickel or zinc homo- or hetero-nuclear dimetal complex as photochemical wateroxidation catalysts. Especially, dinucler cobalt complex shows extremely high catalytic activity.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究で開発したコバルト二核錯体触媒は、これまで報告された他の光酸素発生触媒と比較しても、非常に活性が高いことが分かった。さらに、電解による酸素発生反応も極めて効率的に促進できることを明らかとした、また、他にも多くの反応に応用可能であることを見出した。今後、この触媒反応機構の詳細を明らかとすることで、今後の触媒開発における重要な知見が得られると予測される。この研究はその足掛かりとなると期待される。
