Outline of Final Research Achievements |
Once facial contracture has established, facial nerve function hardly recover completely. We developed the evaluation method of facial contracture which is sequelae after facial palsy. We use the 3D scanner to evaluate the rise in the cheek and deep nasolabial fold. We analyzed the 3D model of the face and calculate the cheek thickness. We investigated that the differences in the cheek thickness can evaluate the degree of the facial contracture. Botulinum toxin injection shows the temporary relief of facial contracture. We evaluated the effect of botulinum toxin on the facial contracture using the new evaluation method.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
