Outline of Annual Research Achievements

2022年度は、ようやく出張が可能となった事から共同研究・現地調査・学会発表などが実施できるようになった。
本研究における重要なマイルストーンであるデータ作成について、詳細な電子化されたデータの構築がようやく完成したと言える。これは、労働集約的な作業が必要であったことから時間がかかった。1880年～1914年までと、1926年～1936年のデータを構築できた成果は大きく、今後はこのデータを用いた分析に着手することになる。これまでは船舶動静を船舶数のみで分析するしか方法がなかったのだが、船籍・船型・トン数などでも分析することができるようになったことから、多面的な分析が可能となった。
なお、2022年度の研究成果としては、Ducruet and Itoh(2022a)やDucruet and Itoh(2022a)のほかに、Saito et al (2022)およびHayakawa and Tsubota (2022)などがある。Ducruet and Itoh(2022a)は帆船と汽船の移り変わりおよびコンテナ化について検証を行う意欲的かつ重要な研究であった。
Saito et al （2022)は、1970年代に発生したスエズ運河の閉鎖前後におけるネットワークの変化を分析する重要な研究であった。また、Hayakawa and Tsubota(2022)は、日本の事例ではあるが、高速道路ネットワークの進展による価格均等化および企業立地の変化を実証的に明らかにしており、交通ネットワークの変化に関する分析を深めたと言える。
