Research Abstract |
(1) We have developed the first Japanese web site (http://www.ae-archiving.jp/) dedicated to art education literature. On the web site, we have published 442 bibliographical introductions, including those with English‐Japanese parallel translation, of key art education literature in Japan. (2) We put twelve papers (nine of which are peer‐reviewed) from the last eleven years into a 333‐page long monograph, Scientific Research Grant-in-‐Aid Report II : Study on the Works Introduced in Art Textbooks in the Last Half of the 20^<th> Century in Japan : Japanese‐English Parallel Translation (written by Nobuo Yamaguchi, 1998-2008). We distributed 400 copies of the monograph at the 32nd InSEA World Congress 2008 in Osaka, and another 600 copies to related national and international organizations and at various conferences. (3) We conducted interviews with education specialists at renowned European and North American museums. The interviews were targeted at museums such as the Art Institute of Chicago (USA), the Metropolitan Museum of Art (USA), the Palatine Gallery in the Pitti Palace (Italy), the Vatican Museum (Italy), the Louvre Museum (France), the Picasso Museum (Spain), the Courtauld Institute Gallery (UK), and the Van Gogh Museum (Holland). The interview reports were published both in English and Japanese in the Scientific Research Grant-in-Aid Report II. (4) We have published and distributed a 198-page long monograph, Scientific Research Grant-in-Aid Report II : Art Education Document Archiving and Thesis Writing Methodologies 2011 (English and Japanese parallel translation). The monograph consists of fifteen papers, including "Progress in the Archiving of Art Education Literature over the Past Decade (in which contains above-mentioned interview reports with Western museums)" and "Art Education Paper and Study Report Writing Research".
