Research Abstract

本研究は、チタン酸バリウム(BaTiO_3:以下、BTO)ナノ結晶粒子(<10nm)が水熱条件下でエピタキシャル結合(粒子同士が3次元的に結晶方位を揃えて結合する)を起こす現象の確認と、その現象を利用したSrTiO_3(STO)単結晶基板へのBTOナノ結晶エピタキシャル薄膜(及びピラー)の作製を目的としたものである。主要な成果として、(1)水/エタノール系加熱条件下(150℃)でBTOナノ結晶を合成すると数100個のBTO結晶(20-50nm)がエピタキシャル結合した凝集体が得られること、(2)電気泳動堆積(EPD)法によりSTO基板上に作製したBTOナノ結晶粒子薄膜を大気中600℃以上で熱処理するとBTOナノ結晶エピタキシャル薄膜が得られること、及び(3)EPD法で作製した5-10nm-BTOナノ結晶薄膜のKOH熱水処理(150℃)によるエピタキシャル薄膜化(単結晶化)の可能性を示す結果が得られた。これらの結果より、BTO結晶のエピタキシャル結合現象を用いた単結晶ピラーの合成が可能であることを確認することができた。
