This research presents the end of Japanese administration in Micronesia and Micronesia's rehabilitation from the Pacific War, focused on the early US occupation period. The points of analysis are as follows. (1) Japanese and US policy for Micronesia during and just after the war, (2) formation and collapse of total war society in Micronesia, (3) mobilization of people within/without Micronesia (including repatriation and labor mobilization), (4) relations among Japanese soldiers, US soldiers and civilians (Carolinian, Chamorro, Japanese, Okinawan, Korean, Chinese, and so on.), (5) rehabilitation of civilians' lives from war damages and beginning of their "autonomy", (6) repatriation after the war.
