Research Abstract |
本研究では, 堆積岩及び各種氷の衝突脱ガス過程における化学反応過程の解明を目的として実験を行った. また, 脱ガス過程からの反応生成物が, 地球気候システムに及ぼす影響の定量的評価を行った. 結果として, (1)衝撃脱ガスによるCO2の発生は, 先行研究の推定より非常に高圧でのみ起きることと(2)白亜期末の巨大隕石衝突後には, 従来想定されていたCO2の大量発生ではなくCOが大量に発生したらしいこと, (3)COが大量発生した場合には, 強力な温室効果が起きることが分かった.
